Driven to deepen her expertise, Dr. Carter completed a one-year postgraduate fellowship in periodontics, specializing in gum health and the tissues surrounding teeth. She further demonstrated her commitment by managing a private practice in Brazil while also serving underserved communities through public dentistry programs.
A chance encounter with her future husband, Clay Carter, while pursuing advanced studies in the U.S. led Dr. Carter to relocate to New Braunfels, Texas. Outside of her robust dental career, Dr. Carter leads a busy personal life as well. As a stepmother and grandmother, she enjoys activities like cooking, reading literature, and scuba diving in her free time. She holds advanced diving certifications, speaks three languages fluently (English, Spanish, and Portuguese), and has an array of talents.
