Lilian Carter, DDS - New Braunfels Dentist
Dr. Lilian Carter has led a remarkable life full of diverse experiences. At just 15 years old, she began working as a dental assistant in Brazil. This early exposure seems to have sparked a lifelong passion for the field of dentistry. After graduating high school in Brazil, she embarked on the path to become a dentist herself, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2003.
Eager to expand her knowledge even further, Dr. Carter went on to complete a 1-year postgraduate fellowship focused on periodontics – the specialty dealing with gum health and tissues surrounding teeth. She then demonstrated her dedication by simultaneously owning a private dental practice in Brazil while also serving underprivileged populations through public dentistry programs.
A chance encounter with her future husband Clay Carter while pursuing advanced studies in the U.S. led Dr. Carter to relocate to New Braunfels, Texas.
Outside of her robust dental career, Dr. Carter leads a busy personal life as well. As a stepmother and grandmother, she enjoys activities like cooking, reading literature, and scuba diving in her free time. She holds advanced diving certifications, speaks three languages fluently (English, Spanish and Portuguese), and has an array of talents.
Dr. Lilian Carter exemplifies professional achievement paired with diverse life experiences. Her story is one marked by passion, perseverance, and embracing new challenges at every turn. Dr. Carter joined the team at Great Oaks Dentistry in 2023 and is excited to provide quality dental care for our amazing patients.
